Blowin' up like we thought he would...

The Runaway has been nominated alongside heavy-hitting Canuck Manafest in the Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year category of this year's Covenant Awards, a show similar to the United States' GMA Awards and administered by Gospel Music Association Canada (GMA Canada).

Run's debut album A Brief Word will compete against Manafest's Glory and three others for the honour, which will be handed out in Calgary, Alberta, in late October. Relient K, Thousand Foot Krutch, Hawk Nelson and Starfield are also nominated for Covenant Awards this year. A full list of nominees can be read here.

Manafest is also up for Album of the Year and Artist of the Year, but root for our boy Run in the hip-hop category. And buy his album now. He put up with us back in the day, and if that doesn't make him deserving of some kind of award, we don't know what does.
