Daydreaming of a Warm Summer ... Music Festival

While snow is still in the forecast in my neck of the woods, I am dreaming about summer. Beach, sunshine, warm weather, vacations, and music festivals. In an effort to remind myself that balmy temperatures will soon be on the way, I looked through my pictures from the Purple Door festival from last August. What are now the cold snow-laden slopes of Ski Roundtop in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania will once again be filled with bands, art, speakers and music fans spread among snow-making machines and ski-lifts. Confirmed bands are scheduled to be announced at the Purple Door website this coming Saturday March 1st with ticket sales beginning April 7th. Buy early for the cheapest price. Or better yet, volunteer for a discounted ticket price.

If you are bummed that Relient K is not playing at your local music festival, why not check out the Vans Warped Tour across the United States and into Canada from the end of June through the middle of August? You can also catch Anberlin, Family Force 5, and the Devil Wears Prada, all bands that played at Purple Door last year.

Other music events I am planning to attend include Bamboozle (the New Jersey version) in May. Click here for Bamboozle Left (the Irvine, California version) in April. Both Bamboozle and Warped Tour are continuing to refine the line-up so swing by again in a few weeks.

The photos include artists that performed at Purple Door 2007: Anberlin, Relient K, Family Force 5, Disciple, Red, Leeland, Derek Webb, and Spoken.
