Eleventyseven = Relient K

So I've heard a couple songs by Eleventyseven and honestly, I don't like them.  I mean, they have a decent sound but they seem to be much like Relient K, whose songs all sound exactly the same.  Is anybody else with me here?  And why are people afraid of writing a bad review of a CD??

Eleventyseven != Relient K

If you ask me, Relient K has a pretty good variety in their songs. And although I've only heard a song or two of Eleventyseven, I wouldn't say they sound like Relient K.  Tell me they sound just like every other Christian punk band, though, and I'd agree.  Relient K has an amazing variety of sonic and thematic variety that is often overlooked.  (Maybe you have to listen to a whole album through to hear it.)

11T7

I agree with Dan's comments regarding Relient K.  And I also agree that 11T7 does not sound much like Relient K at all, especially their recent music.  They have really expanded their sound.

In my opinion, most or all of the other new pop-punk bands that I have heard in the last 2 years sound either all the same, or like Relient K attempted copy cats.  When I am listening to RadioU, sometimes I don't even know which band is playing.  (Not including Relient K here.  I am only speaking of new bands.)

Now, if we were to expand the options to mainstream, then, well, I would have to agree that 11T7 sounds like alot of other bands out there.

But I saw MxPx the other day and I was thinking, "You know what?  All bands of this genre sound the same in the end."
