Cool Hand Luke continues, despite no current band
Mark Nicks of Cool Hand Luke posted a detailed blog today on Myspace. Sitting down at a coffee shop in Nashville with his wife, apparently people he knew kept walking in and asking him what was up with the band. This prompted Mark to send out the latest news. In short, upcoming shows are planned near Nashville, but without a band. Mark will perform old and new Cool Hand Luke songs and play the piano. For various reasons, his recent bandmates have left the band. Despite this, Mark says Cool Hand Luke is not done and he hopes to tour to areas where the band has not been recently. Furthermore, Mark is working on new music.
In the final paragraph, Nicks expresses, “I’ll try to keep you posted on all things Cool Hand Luke and be as honest as I can. Though Cool Hand Luke is just me for right now, I don’t think or want you to think that it has been all about me for the past ten years. It has always been a group of people working together to produce art that makes us all think of something beyond tones and rhythms and points us to the center of the Cross of Jesus Christ. It is with a penitent and humble heart that I offer these things to you and encourage you to lift your eyes to the holy throne during this season of Lent. Love for all of you.”
