Music Builds Tour announced
Rumors and factual information about a tour brewing with Switchfoot, Third Day and Robert Randolph and the Family Band have been floating around the 'net for a few weeks now. These three bands are scheduled to play a launch party (aka showcase) for the tour at this years GMA week in Nashville.
Today Chad Butler. Switchfoot's drummer, posted more detailed information about the upcoming "Music Builds" tour on the Switchfoot message boards. The tour will actually be a traveling festival. Jars of Clay will be joining the lineup, with others to be announced. "Wait till you see who is on the side stage! All kinds of bands and artists that care about helping people. The diversity of the lineup is a big goal of ours- it's exciting to bring such diverse musicians and music fans together for such a worthy cause," Chad explained.
After the "Appetite for Construction" tour raised $100,000 for Habitat for Humanity last fall, Switchfoot was excited to partner with To Write Love on Her Ams for the current Spring tour. In keeping with the dream to see the world change, they collected other artists with the same heart, yet diverse music and varied backgrounds to collaborate together for one goal: to raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity.
Chad further explained, "As a band we have held firm to the idea that music can bring us together to accomplish much more than a show. Ideology, race, genre: we put these distinctions aside to play music for everyone."
Stay tuned for a report from Nashville after the launch party.
