The online zine blabbermouth.net reported recently that erstwhile nu-metal kings P.O.D. have inked a deal with Columbia Records and INO Records, the Christian market label home to Derek Webb, Disciple, Skillet, Flyleaf, and a host of others. P.O.D. had spent several years with Atlantic Records, producing four full-length albums since 1998, including their 2001 breakthrough disc Satellite.
The band has reunited with guitarist Marcos Curiel, who exited the group in 2003, claiming he was fired. Curiel then gave a profanity-laced interview to MTV, accusing the other members of the group of being less pious than they made themselves out to be.
Curiel was replaced by Jason Truby, who has since stepped aside.
Blabbermouth reports P.O.D. is in pre-production for its next album, which is due out this summer. Our thanks to RockRebel.com for their excellent coverage of this story and for pointing us toward the Blabbermouth article.
