Tomlin wins big at GMA Music Awards

Wednesday night was a big one for reknowned worship leader Chris Tomlin, who took home five statues from the 37th Annual GMA Music Awards, held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.

Tomlin was named Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year, and saw his No. 1 single "How Great is Our God" honored as both Song of the Year and Worship Song of the Year. He was also among a bevy of popular artists who contributed to the Music Inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which was dubbed Special Event Album of the Year at the awards.

David Crowder Band shared in three wins of their own, earning Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for "Here is Our King," as well as Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year for A Collision. They also contributed to the Chronicles of Narnia album.

Awards show co-host Kirk Franklin was also among the multiple winners, taking home awards for Urban Recorded Song of the Year ("Looking For You") and Urban Album of the Year (Hero). Other notable winners included:

Mat Kearney, Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year ("Trainwreck"); The Afters, New Artist of the Year; Natalie Grant, Female Vocalist of the Year; Casting Crowns, Group of the Year; Third Day, Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year ("Cry Out to Jesus"); KJ-52, Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year (Behind the Musik); Relient K, Rock Album of the Year (mmhmm); Carrie Underwood, Country Recorded Song of the Year ("Jesus, Take the Wheel"); and Blind Boys of Alabama, Traditional Gospel Album of the Year (Atom Bomb).
